  • Scan and/or import documents to the bank's official  electronic document storage system
  • Accurately index documentation to ensure proper filing with the system
  • Perform quality assurance review or imaged documents
  • Forward documentation to clear exceptions to Post Closing Review team
  • Ensure proper retention,filing, and security of original documents required to be retained after imaging, per the bank's retention guidelines

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Mathematical aptitude

West Knoxville company is seeking an Collection Specialist !

This is a great opportunity to work for a great company. The position is a contract assignment that will be 3-6 months with a potential of a permanent role. 

The hours are Monday-Friday from 8-5. The pay is $15/HR

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the Bank’s process of collecting money owed to it or one of its clients.
  • Comply with company policies when contacting individuals and other companies to collect past due balances that are owed.
  • Ensure that all written correspondence complies with company policies in terms of verbiage and frequency of contact.
  • Keeps up with changes in state and federal laws governing debt collections.
  • Operate within the confines of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) when making phone contact with individuals and companies.
  • File bankruptcy proof of claim or assign to an approved attorney for handling.
  • Skip tracing customers; developing contact information, verifying place of employment.
  • Assign charge-off accounts and loans to an approved attorney or to a third-party collection agency, as directed by the Collections Manager.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING:

  • Organizational and Research skills
  • Student Loan experience desirable
  • Expertise in skip tracing techniques
  • Ability to read, decipher, and use information in credit bureau reports and Accurint reports to locate customers, assets, and employment.
  • Professional communication skills to convey information effectively
  • Detail orientated
  • Flexibility and ability to multi-task
  • Critical thinking
  • Accounting and finance principles in the interpretation of customer financials

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance preferred, but not required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in collections, with an emphasis on skip tracing.
  • 1-2 years of experience with computer technology including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, E-Mail and internet navigation.
